Funding and Development
The Commonwealth Government announced in August 2009 that the City of Cockburn would receive $6.65 million towards the establishment of Cockburn Integrated Health, which was incorporated into the establishment of the Cockburn Integrated Health and Community Facility.
The Board was established and the Company, Cockburn GP Super Clinic Ltd (ABN 64 152 568 477) (trading as Cockburn Integrated Health), was registered on 9 August 2011 to operate the service.
Inaugural CEO Appointed
The Company appointed a CEO in November 2011 to assist with establishment of Cockburn Integrated Health.
Tender Awarded and Construction Commencement
The Tender for Construction of the Cockburn Integrated Health and Community Facility went to the City of Cockburn Council Meeting on 8 September 2011 where the Council resolved to appoint Gavin Construction Pty Ltd. The total project cost was estimated to be $38.6 million (ex GST). The building project was subsequently passed over to Jaxon Construction in 2012 for completion.
Construction of the facility commenced at the end of 2011 and was completed in mid 2013.
